Save Green Gates Park: Petition to Frodsham Town Council and Cheshire West & Chester Council
Deadline: End March 2020
We, the undersigned, are opposed to development upon Green Gates Park of Ship Street, Frodsham. This green space was enjoyed by hundreds of Frodsham residents until the play equipment was sold for scrap and the gates were locked. The land is currently protected by a covenant that states the council will not use the land otherwise than as a children’s playground. We call upon our local councils to:
- Not allow housing to be built on Green Gates Park.
- Maintain Green Gates Park as a public space that benefits the community.
The Green Gates team would like to thank everyone who filled out our original survey, we had a great response rate. The survey focused on but was not limited to people living in the Waterside ward. This is because Green Gates Park is located within the Waterside ward.
Although our original survey showed that:
- 92% of respondents agree that housing should not be built on Green Gates Park and
- 95% of respondents agree that Green Gates Park should be used as a public space to benefit the community…
Some members of Frodsham Town Council have claimed the survey is not valid as the whole of Frodsham should have been consulted. We are therefore conducting a petition to demonstrate that there is an appetite for Green Gates Park beyond the Waterside ward. Please complete this petition irrespectively of where you live, the data can be segmented.
